Train service in Europe is simple and simply outstanding.
It is nothing like you have ever experienced before. Each country has a national railroad company and/or several private train companies serving regular commuters and foreign visitors. International train services wisk passengers across borders without missing a click. Stations are typically located downtown in the city centers. Hotels, restaurants, museums, and other attractions are within walking distance. No airport shuttle bus is required.
This is a collection of sites offering schedules, reservations, ticketing, and general information for travelers. Most have an English language page, though sometimes it is hard to find. If you don't see it spelled out look for a British or American flag and press your left mouse button on it.
If you have never used the trains in Europe before then a visit to my pages on the trains of Europe will serve you well. There are four pages with extensive first-hand information on all aspects of trains in Europe. Before you go visit Trains in Europe: A Primer for Riding the Rails. The pictures will help get you up the learning curve, faster than a TGV.
If you would like to suggest a site for any page of the Travelers Yellow PagesTM fill in the form below and I'll check it out. Cross linking helps us both in search engine rankings, or so some people think. To be considered, your site or page must be of significant interest to Europe bound travelers.
There is no cost for your listing. Put the site title, as you would like it to appear, in line 1. Please keep it brief in keeping with the other titles in this directory. The description normally comes straight from your web site meta tag. Please make it a simple gramatically correct non-promotional description of your site, product, or service.
In line 3 include the URL of the page on your site which links to www.enjoy-europe.com.
This huge departure board at Gare du Nord, one of the major train stations in Paris,
provides essential data in French, English, and German. Note that take-off time in the first column is on the 24 hour clock.
Transfer to other Paris train stations by Metro subway or RER regional rail. The platform
number is on the far right. The orientation
plan for this train station is shown in chapter 17 part 3 Night Trains in Europe:
Sleeping City to City.
